ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Technical Sales Representative at TASSCO, you are responsible for driving revenue growth by building strong, long-term customer relationships within key industrial sectors. By understanding customer MRO needs and delivering tailored bulk material handling solutions, you will identify new business opportunities and position TASSCO as a trusted partner. Through strategic engagement and a deep knowledge of our niche products, you will help optimize customer efficiency while expanding TASSCO’s presence in the abrasion and impact-resistant wear solutions market.
LOCATION
This position is remote, based in or around Orlando or Northern Florida, and requires travel within the assigned territory.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Travel: Spend up to 75% of your time visiting key accounts within your assigned territory. As the territory becomes more established, travel may decrease, allowing for a more flexible and remote schedule.
- Sales Strategy Development: Execute strategic sales plans targeting industries like pulp and paper, biomass, coal power generating, steel, cement, mining and aggregate, pulp and paper, steel, cement, mining, and aggregate.
- Customer Relationship Building: Understand customer equipment needs, providing tailored solutions to improve operational efficiency. Show genuine care by focusing on building strong, long-term relationships, and delivering excellent service that aligns with customer needs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with customer service, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery, installation, and support. Be a team player by ensuring transparent communication and accountability across all functions.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Manage proposals, contracts, and forecasting while overseeing the sales pipeline in your territory.
- Market Analysis: Regularly assess market trends, competitor activities, and identify new business opportunities. Demonstrate initiative by adapting to market changes and seizing opportunities, always striving for excellence in outcomes.
- Technical Expertise: Be recognized as a technical expert, providing solution-based selling for industrial applications. Do the right thing by offering customers honest, well-researched recommendations that address their specific equipment challenges.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
First 30 Days:
- Immerse yourself in TASSCO’s products and services, understanding how they generate value for customers.
- Meet with leadership and key stakeholders to identify strategic goals and immediate process improvements.
- Develop strong working relationships with the Inside Sales team and cross-functional teams.
First 3-6 Months:
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships by scheduling regular calls to identify and expand into new accounts.
- Gain a solid understanding of TASSCO’s core products and industrial applications, enabling you to confidently discuss and deliver tailored solutions to customers.
- Secure at least two new deals with existing accounts while identifying three high-potential customers for future project-based work.
First 12 Months:
- Own your territory by building long-term customer partnerships, driving both MRO and capital project-based sales.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in sales, engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in B2B sales, particularly in industrial or manufacturing sectors.
- Proven track record of building strong customer relationships and delivering tailored solutions.
- Technical aptitude in industrial equipment or MRO solutions, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills, demonstrating commitment to teamwork and accountability.
- Experience in conducting market analysis and managing sales pipelines.
